H.E.Mr. Ensar Eminovic, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Thailand paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prime Minister. On 11 August 2009 at 8:30 a.m. H.E. Mr. Ensar Eminovic, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Thailand paid courtesy visit to Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prime Minister at the Ivory Room, Thai Khu Fa Building, Government House, details of the conversation as follows. Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed appreciation to the Prime Minister- On the occasion of this courtesy visit and summarized various situations, including Bosnia and Herzegovina political and economic situation. In the past year, Bosnia and Herzegovina entered into an Agreement on Stabilization and Association with the European Union, an important Agreement for Bosnia and Herzegovina to begin the process into becoming a member of the European Union. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina will play an important part in promoting the relationship, which will bond the two countries even deeper. He also expected the private sector of both Thailand and Bosnia and Herzegovina to meet to discuss new investment opportunities. Both countries were keen to explore market opportunities. Thailand hoped to use Bosnia and Herzegovina as the gateway into regions of Europe since Bosnia and Herzegovina is considered a point of linkage between regions of eastern and western Europe. Ont his occasion, both parties exchanged viewpoints on the economy and agreed to extend economic co-operation including in trading, investment and tourism. One area which Thailand deems that both countries can co-operate is in the industry of Halal food. Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed interest for Thailand to develop the Halal industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina into becoming a Hub for Halal food in the EU.In this matter, the Prime Minister stated that the Halal Science Center of Chulalongkorn University is ready to render co-operation. Furthermore, on the situation in Southern Thailand, both parties agreed that careful study is important in solving the problem in the long-term, while cooperation and understanding from the people is also necessary. The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed co-operation with Thailand in all areas for joint benefit of both countries.
